Liverpool man arrested over travel agency armed raids

A 49-year-old man has been charged over a string of armed robberies at travel agencies in Staffordshire, Lancashire and Derbyshire.

The man, from Liverpool, was arrested following a raid at Co-Op Travel in Hanley, Stoke-on-Trent, on Friday.

He was charged with six armed robberies, possessing an offensive weapon and assaulting a police officer.

He is due to appear at North Staffordshire Magistrates' Court in Fenton later.
