Two arrested on Surrey border over Brighton pram thefts

Two men have been arrested on suspicion of theft after two prams were stolen from a shop in Brighton.

Sussex Police said the prams, worth more than £1,600, were stolen from a shop in Lewes Road on Monday afternoon.

A shopper went into the store and reported seeing a vehicle driving away at speed, Pc Lisa Timerick said.

Officers stopped a car on the Surrey border and arrested a 26-year-old man from Horley and a 23-year-old man from Morden, south London. Both were bailed.

Pc Timerick said she wanted to trace the woman who reported seeing the vehicle drive away from the shop at about 1315 BST.
