Brother: Talha Ahsan kept in 'concrete tomb of hell'

14 August 2014 Last updated at 12:31 BST

A Briton extradited to the US on terrorism charges was kept in "inhumane" conditions during his imprisonment, according to his brother.

Talha Ahsan, who suffers from Aspergers, was sent to the States with cleric Abu Hamza and fellow suspect Babar Ahmad in 2012.

In a plea bargain in the US, Talha admitted aiding terrorists, but the US judge said he was a "a danger to no-one" and ordered he be released.

His brother Hamja, says Talha was kept in a "concrete tomb of hell" at a maximum security prison before being sent to his current location, a US immigration detention centre.

The Home Office said Ahsan "faced justice in the US after admitting terrorism offences" and his release from custody was a matter for American authorities.
