UK heatwave warning: Temperatures to top 30 degrees

A heatwave alert has been issued for parts of the UK as temperatures are predicted to top 30C by Friday - hotter than Majorca.

Public health officials are warning people to stay out of the sun and take precautions.

However the weather is expected to break at the weekend and there could be severe thunderstorms.
