The papers: Tuesday's front pages

8 July 2014 Last updated at 03:04 BST

Financial Times deputy political editor Beth Rigby and John Kampfner, director of the Creative Industries Federation, joined the BBC News Channel to review Tuesday's newspapers.

They began by discussing how the papers covered the announcement that two inquiries will look into issues surrounding the way child sex abuse claims have historically been handled by public institutions.

The pair then moved on to a story in the Daily Telegraph suggesting that Germany is considering restarting counter-espionage operations against the US and UK for the first time since 1945, and the paper's lead about new airport security restrictions.
