Half of British adults feel their local roads are too dangerous to cycle on, according to a poll commissioned for the BBC.

3,000 people were interviewed ahead of the Tour de France coming to Yorkshire, Cambridgeshire and Essex.

Around two-thirds said roads are not designed to be safe for cyclists.
