Food safety: 'Cooking will kill unwashed chicken germs'

Consumers are being warned to stop washing raw chicken, as doing so increases the risk of food poisoning.

Catherine Brown, chief executive of the Food Standards Agency, told BBC Breakfast that cooking would kill any germs on chicken and that it was important to avoid cross-contamination that could be caused by water droplets.
