Missing yachtsmen: Search must continue, says Ben Fogle

19 May 2014 Last updated at 17:14 BST

Adventurer Ben Fogle has called for the US Coastguard to resume its search for the four British yachtsmen who went missing in the mid-Atlantic Ocean.

Mr Fogle said the search had been called off too soon and it was possible the men had had time to grab supplies and escape in a life raft.

Their yacht, Cheeki Rafiki, ran into difficulties late last week about 1,000 miles (1,600km) off Cape Cod, Massachusetts.

A spokeswoman for the coastguard said on Monday morning that unless there were "new developments about the case" the search would not be resumed.
