28 April 2014 Last updated at 11:47 BST

A soldier who was made redundant from the army has kept an audio diary of his first week after leaving the forces.

Lance Corporal Gareth Milner is one of 12,000 personnel from the army, Royal Navy and Royal Air Force who have been made redundant or will be made redundant by 2020.

On the first day of his diary, Gareth said leaving camp and moving back in with his parents was "emotional."

First broadcast on Monday 28 April as part of a special BBC Radio 5 live's Breakfast programme on life after the forces.
