Police have arrested a man in west London on suspicion of financing and encouragement of terrorism.

Officers from the Metropolitan Police's Counter Terrorism Command arrested the 36-year-old at an address in Greenford on Thursday.

The Met said officers were also searching a second residential address in Ealing and a business address in Fulham, both also in west London.

The arrested man remains in custody at a police station in south London.

On Wednesday police conducted a series of counter-terrorism raids at six addresses in the south of England.

Anti-terror officers in London searched properties in Hounslow, Walthamstow, Brentford and two in Greenford.

A property in High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire, was also searched.
