The papers: Wednesday's front pages

23 April 2014 Last updated at 00:56 BST

Anne Ashworth, assistant editor of The Times, and David Davies, media commentator and former executive director of the Football Association, reviewed the papers for the BBC News Channel.

The discussion began with a look at the coverage of the events at Manchester United following the sacking of manager David Moyes.

Other talking points included figures highlighted on the front page of the Times suggesting violent crime has fallen to its lowest level in more than a decade; a suggestion in the Daily Telegraph that thousands of British expats in Spain are returning home; and the latest reports on the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge's visit to Australia.
