Public trust in police 'shaken' - annual HMIC report

An annual assessment of policing in England and Wales says it has been damaged but not broken by scandals.
HM Chief Inspector of Constabulary Tom Winsor said public trust in the police had been "shaken".
But he insisted that the scandals were the work of a minority, and that the service would be "ruthless and uncompromising" in finding and removing corrupt officers.
