Cornwall Council defends 10 sandbags per person limit

14 February 2014 Last updated at 17:57 GMT

Cornwall Council has defended its aim to limit sandbags to 10 per person.

Some flood-hit residents who spoke to the BBC criticised the council's decision, arguing 10 sandbags were not enough for those owning more than one property.

The council had already reversed its policy to charge residents for sandbags after previously saying it did not have a statutory duty to provide them.

Councillor Alex Folkes explained the decision saying: "what we want to avoid is people hoarding sandbags".
