The costly damage caused by potholes

The estimated cost of repairing roads in some parts of southern England is being put at more than £1bn.

Councils in Devon and Cornwall have blamed years of under-investment and claim the situation has been exacerbated by months of bad weather.

RAC technician, Matt Woodbridge, showed the BBC the kind of damage that can be caused to cars by potholes.
