Mark Duggan 'was holding phone not gun' when shot

3 December 2013 Last updated at 20:16 GMT

A witness to the shooting of Mark Duggan said he was "definitely" holding a phone when he was shot.

The man, known as Witness B, said he saw Mr Duggan from a flat on the 9th floor of a building near the scene in Ferry Lane, in Tottenham, north London, in August 2011.

Witness B told the inquest he looked out of an open window after hearing the screech of tyres and shouting.

The witness later denied he had changed his statement after other evidence said he initially thought it was a gun.

Matt Prodger reports.
