Water companies told to keep prices down

After the energy suppliers, it is now the turn of the water companies to come under pressure from politicians over household bills.

The Environment Secretary, Owen Paterson, has urged them to "look closely" at whether price increases are necessary and called for them to introduce special tariffs for hard-pressed families.
