15 October 2013 Last updated at 19:02 BST

The police marksman who shot and killed Mark Duggan in north London has told an inquest that he opened fire because he believed he was going to be shot.

The officer, who gave evidence anonymously, said he'd seen Mr Duggan carrying a gun.

Mr Duggan's death in August 2011 was the catalyst for riots in Tottenham, which spread across the country.

June Kelly reports.
