Scrap metal dealer ready for new law

A new law targeting trade in stolen metal has come into force.

All scrap dealers and motor salvage operators in England and Wales must now apply for a licence from their local authority and keep records on who they buy from.

The Scrap Metal Dealers Act 2013 is aimed at preventing the theft of metal which had become a serious problem throughout the UK

BBC Radio 4's Tom Bateman visited scrap metal dealers Chase Metal, in South London.
