April Jones funeral held in Machynlleth

26 September 2013 Last updated at 22:42 BST

A funeral service for five-year-old April Jones has taken place in mid Wales, almost a year after she was abducted and murdered.

About 200 people walked behind the funeral cortege as it travelled from her home in Machynlleth to a nearby church.

April was abducted by Mark Bridger on 1 October last year, sparking the biggest missing person search in UK police history.

Bridger was jailed for life in May after being found guilty at Mold Crown Court.

Hywel Griffith reports.
