25 September 2013 Last updated at 00:03 BST

An ex-bank manager from Manchester has broken the blind land speed record by driving at an average speed of 186mph.

Mike Newman reclaimed the record from Turkish pop singer Metin Senturk and said he hoped his achievement would encourage people with disabilities to get involved with motor sport.

Mr Newman, 52, was driving at Bruntingthorpe Proving Ground in Leicestershire.
