Why did London's 'Walkie Talkie' melt a car?

The developers of a new building in the City of London have paid almost £1,000 to a businessman whose car was damaged by sunlight reflecting off its windows, causing it to melt.

The Jaguar was parked next to the so-called "Walkie Talkie" skyscraper, when it suffered melted door handles and a buckled panel. Some parking spaces have now been suspended.

Dr Simon Foster from Imperial College London's Department of Physics explains to BBC News why this happened.
