Fire rages at Avon and Somerset police gun range

27 August 2013 Last updated at 18:22 BST

A fire has been burning all day at a brand new £16m police firearms range near Bristol which is still under construction.

The blaze was spotted by an off duty police officer and has prompted road closures around the area near Portishead, in Somerset.

The centre, which will contain two indoor firing ranges and classrooms, was planned to open next year.

Claire Brennan reports.
