Sweden's Jonas Von Essen, 21, has been named as the UK Open Memory Champion.

The 21-year-old picked up the honours at the championships held at London's Science Museum.

He told BBC Breakfast that he improved his memory by reading about memory techniques.

Chris Day, from the World Memory Sports Council, said the techniques are useful to improve memory.

Mr Day said: "We all have potentially an amazing memory."
