Royal baby: Moment birth of William and Kate's son was announced

The Duchess of Cambridge has given birth to a baby boy, Kensington Palace has confirmed.

Prince William and Kate's son will be known as the Prince of Cambridge - the first Prince of Cambridge to be born for more than 190 years.

He was delivered at 1624 BST and weighed 8lbs 6oz. Prince William was present for the birth.

Royal correspondent Peter Hunt announced the news on air.
