Neville Lawrence calls for inquiry into police smear claim

Twenty years after Stephen Lawrence's murder, a former under cover police officer has said that in 1993 he was instructed to find information that could discredit the Lawrence family.

The allegations are to be the subject of two existing inquiries into police activities, but not, as Stephen Lawrence's father Neville is demanding, an independent judicial inquiry.
