The government's new social mobility tsar has told the Telegraph in an interview that parents should not help their children into jobs.
James Caan, the entrepreneur and former Dragons' Den panellist, said too many parents are eager to provide their children with the opportunity of work experience at top companies.
Speaking to the Today programme's John Humphrys, Mr Caan insisted that "letting children find their own way through life" would make for "a much fairer society".
First broadcast on BBC Radio 4's Today programme on Tuesday 4 June 2013.
