King Edward VIII bugged during abdication crisis

Help

The National Archives in London have released secret files showing that the telephone line of King Edward VIII was bugged in the days leading up to his abdication in 1936.

At the time, the King was trying to decide whether to give up the throne in order to marry the woman he loved - the American divorcee, Wallis Simpson.

Stuart Flinders reports.
