Attacks on subcultures to be classed as hate crimes

A police force has become the first in the country to record hate crimes against groups such as goths and punks.

Greater Manchester Police will treat offences in such a way following a campaign by the Sophie Lancaster Foundation set up in memory of the 20-year-old goth, who was murdered in 2007.
