British troops reflect on their mission in Afghanistan

Help

Many British soldiers are packing up and preparing to return home as the UK gradually winds down its operations in Afghanistan.

Combat forces are to remain in the country until at least the end of 2014, but many bases are being dismantled and troops are now limited to a training role.

Newsnight's Mark Urban has been speaking to some of the soldiers to find out about their experiences in Afghanistan, and to gather their views on the country's future.
