Leveson Inquiry: Press regulation talks break down
Cross-party talks between party leaders on post-Leveson press reforms have broken down, David Cameron has confirmed.
The prime minister told Nick Clegg and Ed Miliband that the gap between them was "too great" to bridge, and said he would publish plans for a Royal Charter to establish a tougher press regulator on Monday.
Labour and the Lib Dems say the plans will give newspapers too much discretion over press regulation.
