Mike Bushell limbers up at pole fitness class
Pole dancing is normally associated with late-night clubs, but it is thought that it originally started as a competitive sport over 1,000 years ago in Africa and India.
In gyms around the UK, the sport is gaining popularity, with the preferred name of pole fitness.
The BBC's Mike Bushell has been to Nottingham to train with some competitors limbering up for the National Championships.
