Safety expert: Avalanche is often 'created by the person'
When trekking in the Scottish Highlands there is always an element of risk but already this year nine people have lost their lives, seven of them in avalanches.
Three people were killed on Thursday in an avalanche in the Chalamain Gap area in the Highlands.
Alfie Ingram from the Scottish Mountain Safety Forum told the BBC that the majority of avalanches are actually created by the person.
