Why do people choose to settle in the UK?

Since 2001, there has been a 66% increase in the number of foreign-born residents in England and Wales, which adds up to almost three million new people.

One in eight of us are now foreign-born - a greater proportion than in Germany or Italy and the same proportion of newcomers as the United States.

Here, three foreign-born people tell the BBC's Mukul Devichand why they chose to settle in the UK rather than going anywhere else in the world.
