HS2 route: Birmingham to Leeds in one minute
Details of the next phase of the £32bn HS2 high-speed rail network have been unveiled by the government.
The preferred route of phase two goes north from Birmingham along two branches; one line will pass through Crewe, Manchester Airport and Manchester city centre while the other will go to Leeds via Toton near Nottingham and Sheffield.
