Algeria siege: Family 'elated' at freed Belfast hostage
The family of a Belfast man taken hostage at a gas facility in eastern Algeria have said they are "elated" at the news of his reported release.
Stephen McFaul, 36, was detained at the BP site by Islamist militants on Wednesday. An operation by Algerian forces is continuing to free the remaining hostages.
His brother, Brian, described the family's anguish while waiting for news, after hearing he had locked himself in his room for safety.
Stephen's mother, Marie, and 13-year-old son Dylan said the family are planning a party for him on his return.
