The Metropolitan Police is to examine a complaint from the brother of Stephen Lawrence that he has been stopped and searched because he is black.

Stuart Lawrence, 35, a teacher, alleges he has been stopped up to 25 times over many years, the Daily Mail reported.

The Met said the complaint was "a very serious matter and it will be investigated thoroughly and speedily".

The BBC's Home Affairs correspondent Danny Shaw reports.
