'Political interference' feared in UK tourist murder case

The brother of a British man murdered in Sri Lanka in 2011 has called on the UK government to raise the case with their Sri Lankan counterparts, in order to see his killers prosecuted.

Khuram Shaikh, 32, was on holiday from his work as a Red Cross prosthetics worker in Gaza when he was brutally murdered at a resort hotel.

All eight suspects have been released on bail with no date listed for the trial. The chief suspect, a well-connected Sri Lankan local government politician, has returned to work.

Khuram's brother, Nasser, and Matt Baker, a parliamentary aide to Khuram's MP, Simon Danczuk, spoke to BBC Breakfast about the case.
