London celebrates start of 2013
A huge firework display in London marked the start of 2013, and ending what has been an eventful year for the capital, after it hosted the Queen's Diamond Jubilee and Olympic Games.
Hundreds of thousands of people gathered along the banks of the River Thames to watch the display under the London Eye, triggered by Big Ben's chimes.
