Number of UK food banks double in 12 months
The number of food banks around Britain has almost doubled in the last year.
The Trussell Trust, a leading provider of food handouts, says it now has nearly 3000 of them.
A supermarket chain has also joined forces with a consumer campaigner to give 1000 families a free Christmas dinner.
