Father argues case for gay marriage
Professor Eric Anderson, who is the father of twin boys, has spoken to the BBC about why he supports plans to legalise same-sex marriage.
Ministers will respond to a consultation on how to introduce equal marriage later this week.
Prime Minister David Cameron, who supports the move, has promised a change in the law in England and Wales by the next election in May 2015.
Professor Anderson argued that "we have the right to be free, to live our lives free from religious dogma".
