Abseiling Santa caught by beard at shopping centre
A Santa Claus was left dangling from the ceiling during a Christmas lights switch-on show, after his beard became caught in the rope.
He was stuck for around 30 minutes, 15ft off the ground, in the Broad Street Mall shopping centre on Saturday afternoon.
The event's host continued with the switch-on, assisted by Coronation Street actors Michelle Keegan and Chris Fountain, as Santa dangled above.
Stephanie Maynard, marketing manager at the centre, said Santa escaped unharmed.
