April Jones: 'Sense of despair in Machynlleth'

Local MP Glyn Davies has said that there is a sense of despair taking over from hope in Machynlleth, after a 46-year-old man was charged with the murder of missing April Jones.

Mark Bridger has also been charged with attempting to pervert the course of justice and child abduction.

Mr Davies said that there would still be a "smidgeon of hope until we know for certain what has happened to April" but there was "stunned silence" when news of the charges emerged.

April went missing from near her home in Machynlleth, mid-Wales, on Monday evening.
