Badger culling: The farmers and the fury
As the first pilot for a badger cull received its licence, 100,000 people petitioned to stop the killing.
BBC Newsnight learned of intimidation by animal rights protesters towards farmers supporting the cull.
Campaigners say the cull - intended to reduce TB in cattle - will have no significant effect. But the government says it has got to be tried.
