Greater Manchester shootings: Tributes to police officers
The chief constable of Greater Manchester Police has paid tribute to "two very brave, courageous colleagues" who lost their lives in an incident in Mottram, Tameside.
Sir Peter Fahy said that they "exemplified the very best of British policing".
PC Nicola Hughes, 23, and PC Fiona Bone, 32 suffered fatal injuries after being called out to an address in Abbey Gardens on Tuesday morning.
Dale Cregan, 29, has been arrested in connection with the officers' deaths and two previous murders.
