Manchester police deaths: 'I heard gunfire, then a big bang'
Two female police officers have died during a police operation in Tameside, Greater Manchester, police have confirmed.
Police said both unarmed officers suffered fatal injuries during a "routine operation" in Mottram, Tameside.
A witness close to the scene at Abbey Gardens, Warren Shepperd, said he heard numerous "really loud shots" followed by a large explosion.
