Parents pay tribute to Private Thomas Wroe
The parents of an 18-year-old British soldier shot dead in Afghanistan on Saturday have paid tribute to their "lovable lad" who "would help anybody".
Private Thomas Wroe's father Michael, a former soldier himself, said that the whole family was aware of the risks but that nobody could ever be prepared for such news.
His mother Claire said he was "very much loved".
Pte Wroe was killed along with Sergeant Gareth Thursby, 29, when a rogue Afghan soldier turned on them after faking injury.
Both men were from 3rd Battalion, The Yorkshire Regiment.
