France shootings: Neighbours shocked by family shootings

Help

Fellow residents of the small affluent community of Claygate in Surrey have expressed their disbelief at the murders of the al-Halli family.

Neighbours described them as a 'loving and close-knit family'.

Saad al-Hilli was found dead in a car near Lake Annecy on Wednesday night, along with his wife and mother-in-law.

The couple's two children, seven-year-old Zainab, who is believed to have been seriously injured in the shooting, and Zeena, aged four, are in hospital.

Ben Geoghegan reports.
