Prince Philip back in hospital 'as a precaution'

Help

The Duke of Edinburgh has been taken to hospital as a "precautionary measure" after a recurrence of a bladder infection, Buckingham Palace has said.

Prince Philip, who is 91, was driven by ambulance to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary while staying at Balmoral with the Queen.

The duke originally suffered the infection shortly before the Diamond Jubilee concert on 4 June.

The BBC's royal correspondent Nicholas Witchell reports.
