As the track cyclists hope to add to Team GB's medal haul, the success of Chris Froome, Lizzie Armitstead and Bradley Wiggins have already inspired many to try the sport.

British Cycling, the governing body of cycle sport in the UK, has already reported a record growth in membership.

Jenny Hill visited the Manchester Velodrome, where Britain's elite cyclists train, to learn what goes into making an Olympic medal winner.
