Life underwater on nuclear submarine HMS Triumph

They've missed the Queen's Diamond Jubilee, Euro 2012, and Andy Murray in the Wimbledon finals.

Greece has been bailed out and the Euro crisis has deepened.

Chelsea have won the Champion's League final, and the Higgs Boson particle has been found.

But now the nuclear attack submarine HMS Triumph has returned home to Plymouth after patrolling the straits east of Suez, just in time for the Olympics.

Our defence correspondent Jonathan Beale has spent the last four days living on board the submarine for its final leg from Gibraltar back to the UK.
